Police apprehend suspect in stabbing at Pulaski Park
Police say the victim's injuries are not life-threatening and the people involved were known to each other.
NORTHAMPTON — A stabbing in downtown Pulaski Park on Saturday prompted a police investigation and the cordoning off of a portion of the park, according to Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra. Police apprehended a suspect, and the victim was taken to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Mayor Sciarra said in a statement that police believe the people involved knew each other and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. She expressed concern about the incident while noting that the investigation remains active.
