Amherst Indy Releases September Issue Table of Contents

The Amherst Indy published its September 2026 table of contents, listing dozens of stories on town affairs, schools, housing, and regional issues.

The publication removed bot traffic from its traffic counts as of early June, now tracking only engaged visits that include opening an article or clicking a menu. In June, the site recorded over 105,000 total visits, with roughly one-third representing meaningful engagement.

Engaged page views for the last 30 days totaled 28,177, down 2,570 from the prior month. Engaged sessions in the same period came to 17,623, down 1,766.

The five most-read articles from the prior week included coverage of leaks persisting at the middle school following a roof replacement, Amherst's first public art project, and a planning board discussion of accessory dwelling units and rezoning around UMass.

The current issue features stories on the Jones Library building project, which still owes the town $8.4 million, and UMass creating a pedestrian-only zone on campus. The publication also covers housing initiatives, school construction projects, and a Superior Court decision upholding Northampton's resolution to divest from Israeli apartheid.
